Admission results for the joint Application 2020 for higher education (study programmes offered in English) are ready.

If you have been admitted to a study programme, you will receive a notification of this to your email.

Please note that you can confirm only one study place per academic term. Confirm the study place by 17 July by 3 pm (UTC/GMT +3).

 

Higher education institutes organize supplementary applications during July and August. In these applications, you can apply to degree programmes where the applicant quota was not filled.

General upper secondary education at the English School

The English School is a private school in Helsinki. Its languages of instruction are English and Finnish. The school’s special educational mission is to familiarise students with Finnish and English languages as well as the culture of Finnish and Anglo-Saxon language areas. The curriculum mainly follows the Finnish general upper secondary school curriculum. General upper secondary studies prepare students for the Finnish matriculation examination. Students can also participate in the SAT examination required by US universities and in the Advanced Placement Programme.

General upper secondary education at the International School of Helsinki

The International School of Helsinki offers education in English according to an international curriculum. It is mainly attended by children of repatriates and foreign employees of embassies and businesses in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Instruction aims at the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.

General upper secondary education at the French School of Helsinki

The French School of Helsinki is a state-run language school assigned with a special educational mission, which is to provide its students with good French language skills and knowledge of French culture.

General upper secondary education follows the Finnish curriculum and students take the Finnish matriculation examination. Upper secondary school students can also take the international language examination approved by the State of France, which is accepted by French universities as proof of adequate French language skills.

General upper secondary education at the Finnish-Russian School

The Finnish-Russian School is a state-run general education school emphasising Russian language studies.

The upper secondary school curriculum mainly follows the Finnish general upper secondary school curriculum, but the Russian language syllabus is more extensive than in the Finnish curriculum.
