Joint application to higher education
Joint application means that you can apply to up to six (6) study programmes with one application form. These 6 options may include degree programmes from one or several different higher education institutions. There are three joint applications per year, two that offer study programmes in English (one in spring and one in autumn) and one that offer study programmes only in Finnish and Swedish (in spring).
In the spring 2020 joint application for study programmes offered in English you do not have to place the study programmes in order of preference, and you can be offered several study places. For example, if you are accepted to three out of four study programmes on your application, you can choose which place you wish to confirm.
For more information on the spring 2020 joint application for study programmes offered in Finnish and Swedish, see Opintopolku.fi or Studieinfo.fi.
In the autumn 2020 joint application you must place the study programmes in order of preference, and you can be offered only one study place. You will be offered a study place to the programme that you have placed highest on your list of preferences and to which you have enough points to be accepted. For example, if you are accepted to your second study option, your lower options (3-6) are cancelled, but you can remain on the waiting list for a possible study place in your first option.
You can confirm only one study place in education that begins in the same academic term.
Supplementary application rounds
If all places reserved are not filled during the primary application round, a secondary application round may take place. More detailed instructions for applying during supplementary application rounds are given before the application period begins.
