Admission results of joint application

The higher education institutions will publish the admission results according to their own schedules but no later than by 29 November 2019 for the autumn joint application and by 5 June 2020 for the spring joint application for study programmes offered in English.

You will receive an email with a link to the admission results letter when all the results have been published. The letter includes the admission results of all the study programmes you have applied to in joint application. In the results letter you will also find your points for each study programme and the lowest score for gaining admission.

If you have access to the My Studyinfo -service (Finnish social security number and online banking codes with e-identification enabled, mobile certificate or an electronic ID-card needed), you can also access your results letter there. The higher education institutions may also send out separate information about admission results.

Admission results for study programmes in the spring joint application

In the spring joint application for study programmes offered in English, the results can be published at different times, but no later than by 5 June 2020. As you do not need to set your study options in order of preference in the spring joint application for study programmes offered in English, you can be accepted to several study programmes in the same application. You may receive the results for some study programmes before the results of other study programmes have been published. Remember that you can only confirm one study place during the same academic term. Read more about the one study place per term provision.

The admission results can be:

  • Student admission process unfinished
  • Accepted
  • Accepted (a condition set by the higher education institution)
  • On a waiting list (your number on the waiting list)
  • Cancelled or
  • You have not received a study place

If your result is “Accepted (a condition set by the higher education institution)”

  • There is a condition for you to be admitted (for example: your degree was not yet complete, or you were unable to state your final grades during the application period)
  • The higher education institution will cancel the admission if you do not meet the condition.
  • You can confirm the offered study place, but you cannot enrol in the higher education institution before the condition is met.

If you have been placed on a waiting list

  • If you are on the waiting list, you will be offered a study place if the applicants before you in the queue do not confirm the study place.

The result for a study programme is “Cancelled” if

  • you have already confirmed another study place or
  • all the study places have been filled, and your points were not enough for receiving a study place.

NB! If you have applied for Finnish and/or Swedish degree programmes in the second spring joint application (18 March to 1 April 2020), check the information on admission results from Opintopolku.fi (in Finnish) or Studieinfo.fi (In Swedish).
