Universities of applied sciences and universities charge a tuition fee from Bachelor’s or Master’s level students studying in languages other than Finnish or Swedish.

Sport sciences

The key tasks in the field of Sport Sciences include education and research relating to sports and exercise culture and their development for the needs of different areas of society. Areas of interest include the relationship between physical exercise and health as well as its contributing factors from the perspectives of social sciences, behavioural sciences and medicine.

Degree-holders’ jobs include:

  • teaching assignments at educational institutions
  • sports organisations
  • managerial positions within municipal and state sports administration
  • planning and managerial assignments in leisure activities, rehabilitation, testing and tourism.

The only place to study Sports Sciences in Finland is the University of Jyväskylä.
