Recognition and international comparability of qualifications

When you need to apply for a job or a study place, the comparability of your foreign qualifications with the Finnish ones may need to be verified. The decisions on the comparability are made by different bodies for different purposes.

Study place

Mostly the decisions on comparability of previous studies are done by the higher education institution you have applied to. For example, if you apply to a Finnish higher education institution with a degree from a non-Finnish higher education institution, the Finnish institution will decide on the eligibility and the recognition of your completed studies towards the qualification to be completed in Finland.

Job

When you apply for a job, the decisions on the comparability are made by different bodies for different purposes.
